Michael Spicer and
Ezra Billings and the 200 Free Relay team all posted wins, to lead Lewis & Clark College men's swimming against host University of Puget Sound on Friday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Men's swimming posted three wins and four second-place finishes against a Loggers team that was picked to finish second in the Northwest Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.
The River Otters closed out the night with their first win of the season in the 200 Free Relay. Facing off against three Puget Sound teams, the quartet of Billings, Spicer, sophomore
Sam LoCurto and senior
Zach Martin combined for the fourth-fastest time in program history. Billings posted an opening leg of 21.39 and Martin closed in 21.65 to help Lewis & Clark cruise to victory. Their time of 1:25.75 was 0.42 seconds ahead of the Loggers top team.
Spicer claimed the first win of the night for the River Otters. He placed first out of seven swimmers in the 100 Fly. Spicer touched the wall in 52.92 to barely edge LoCurto (53.10). The duo both edged five Loggers swimmers in the event.
Billings posted his individual victory in the 100 Free. After finishing second to Puget Sound's Emory Burden in the 50 Free, Billings beat the Loggers junior by over half a second in the 100 Free. Billings placed first out of eight swimmers in the event and registered a winning time of 47.48.
Martin paced Lewis & Clark in the 200 and 500 Free. In the 200 Free, Martin touched the wall in 1:50.30 to finish second out of seven swimmers. LoCurto took third overall in the race with a time of 1:50.64. Martin and first year
Reid McAllister placed second and third in the 500 Free. Martin touched the wall in 5:23.85 and McAllister closed in 5:33.34.
Spicer posted the top time on the team in the 400 IM. The senior placed second out of four swimmers with a mark of 4:26.15.
Billings took second place in the 50 Free with a time of 21.87. Sophomore
Aidan Beatty (25.97) and first years
Max Zuberbuhler (27.30) and
Kofi Franklin (27.55) placed seventh, eighth and ninth.
BY THE NUMBERS
- The River Otters 200 Free Relay team's time of 1:25.75 was just 0.20 seconds behind the second-fastest time in program history.
- Sophomore Isaiah Frei led Lewis & Clark in the 100 Backstroke. Frei notched a time of 58.85 to place fourth out of seven swimmers.
- Junior Colin Ziegler paced the team in the 100 Breaststroke. Ziegler posted a time of 1:10.12 to place sixth.
- Spicer's time in the 400 IM (4:26.15) was 10 seconds off his career-best time in the event, but would rank seventh all-time in program history.
- Lewis & Clark's 200 Medley Relay Team finished fifth overall. The quartet of Frei, Ziegler, McAllister and Beatty combined for a time of 1:48.30.
WHO'S NEXT
Lewis & Clark will compete in their final dual meet of 2025 on Saturday, when they travel to take on Pacific Lutheran University at 11 a.m.
