Box Score TACOMA, Wash. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers nearly took the second set and successfully claimed the third in Friday's 25-18, 27-25, 19-25, 25-22 loss to the Puget Sound Loggers at Memorial Fieldhouse.
Izzy Willis tied for the match high with 14 kills, and Debi Chun added 11 for the Pios. Michelle McGinn had 29 assists and a team-best two aces. Kate Kimbro led the Pios with a .500 hitting percentage, while Isabel Artiaga put down eight kills on .353 hitting.

Key Moments
A four-kill, second set for Willis coupled with a pair of kills by Emma Ehlers, Chun and Artiaga each moved the Pios to a 22-20 lead. The Loggers went on a three-point tear before point-for-point play took the score to 25-all, a stretch where Willis had two of her kills. A pair of errors by the Pioneers swayed the set to Puget Sound, which went up 2-0 in the match.
"Hats off to Puget Sound players and coaching staff," Lewis & Clark interim head coach Kaiao Nahale-a said. "They came in prepared, well coached and had players who really owned the role that they had.
"We had four players hit season highs in hitting efficiency. Izzy Artiaga had a great match and was constantly a spark for us. Our middles, Emma and Kate, also battled and owned their roll all night long."
Lewis & Clark (2-5, 1-0 NWC) switched momentum in the third set, but it took midway through the game to do so. Trailing 15-13, kills by Chun, an ace by Kelsey Parker and a pair of kills by Willis were part of a stretch that moved the Pios in front, 21-18. The Pios scored the next four points to seal the set.
