Box Score PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers took the opening set, but fell in the next three in an 18-25, 25-15, 25-12, 25-19 loss to the Puget Sound Loggers on Friday at Pamplin Sports Center.
The Pios hit .345 in the opening set and committed only two hitting errors as four different student-athletes dropped three kills. In the second, the Pios built a 5-1 lead before Jordan Holman held serve for the Loggers over eight straight points to sway the match.

Key Moments
Both teams controlled the sets they won early on. Michelle McGinn, who finished with 24 assists, served for three straight points in the opener and four in the fourth set, which was more contested. In the fourth, there were eight ties and three lead changes and the game was tied through 15 points. The Pios picked up points from Ka'anelaokapu'uwai Pakaki-Pias, Isabel Artiaga and Izzy Willis, but were outscored 10-4 down the stretch.
Katelyn Chekian followed Holman's service run with one of her own in the third. The Loggers scored our straight points and took a 16-8 lead.
In the second, the Pioneers hit .233, but Puget Sound hit .438. Willis had four of her match-most 15 kills and two digs in the second. Debi Chun added an ace, one of eight the Pios had in the match.
