Box Score TACOMA, Wash. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers (10-8, 3-8 NWC) defeated the Puget Sound Loggers (11-9, 8-4 NWC) in a five set match Friday night. The Pioneers went back and forth with the Loggers, winning the first, third, and final sets to take the game (25-19, 26-28, 25-21, 20-25, 15-12). This is the first victory the Pioneers have seen against the Loggers since 2011.
The Pioneers fought hard with the Loggers, with neither team ever pulling comfortably enough ahead to solidify a lead early on. Kourtney Meyer led the Pioneers attacks with 22 kills with Ka'anelaokapu'uwai Pakaki-Pias right behind her with 16. Makena Ohlmaier led the Pioneer defense with five blocks.
