Volleyball Slips 3-1 to #14 Puget Sound

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark volleyball had its hands full on Friday night against #14 Puget Sound in Northwest Conference action. The Pioneers won the second set but were unable to hold off the Loggers, dropping the match 3-1 (17-25, 25-17, 19-25, 15-25). 

Despite a solid performance, the Pioneers slip to 2-7 on the season and 1-2 in NWC play. The Loggers improve their overall record to 8-5 (3-1 NWC). 

Junior Kataleya Milan ended the night with a match-high 20 kills, while Isabel Valentine earned eight and Brigitte Russo seven. Kelsie Dorpat picked up 37 assists on the night and freshman Alexe Navarro collected a match-high 24 digs. Valentine led all players in blocks, knocking down six (five assisted / one solo). Alicia Callejo-Black ended her night with three blocks and Russo contributed two. 

Jackie Harvey led the Loggers with 15 kills, while Jordan Bird had 13 and Marissa Florant had 12. Jenni Brehove led all players with 43 assists, while Florant led the Loggers with 19 digs. 

The Pioneers return to the road for their next contest, traveling to Linfield on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m.
