Los Angeles, Calif. - The Lewis & Clark women's softball team finished its trip to California with a pair of wins, beating the Occidental Tigers. In the first game, the Pioneers won 2-1, then came back in the second game beating the Tigers 8-0.

In the first game, the Tigers scored early with their lone run of the game coming in the first inning. Lewis & Clark responded immediately, with a bunt by Haley Robinson bringing in Amanda Rabith.

Rabith also brought in the winning run, sealing the win with a homer in the fourth inning. Jill Pinder collected the win, pitching five innings before being relieved by Madison Hollenbeck.

During the second game, the Pioneers dominated, holding Occidental to only six hits, and finishing the game in five innings. Hollenbeck picked up the win as the starting pitcher, pitching three innings before being relieved by Natalie Rose.

To start off the second game, Hannah Dal Pra homered in the first, bringing in teammate Robinson to collect two runs. In the next inning, Robinson brought in Hollenbeck with a sacrifice fly to right field. Dal Pra then brought Kataleya Milan in to score with another sacrifice fly to center field.

In the third inning, Taylor Gatti was walked with the bases loaded, bringing in Caitlin McCormick. Robinson then doubled to right field, bringing in Milan and Hollenbeck. Ending the scoring, in the fourth inning Rabith hit a sacrifice fly to center field, bringing in Dal Pra.

The Pioneers ended the game with nine hits and no errors.

Lewis & Clark will return to play, at home on March 23rd, facing its first Northwest Conference opponent, the Puget Sound Loggers at 12 p.m.
