Afolabi Strong Off the Boards in Women's Basketball Loss to Corban

SALEM, Ore. - Freshman Ayisat Afolabi was strong off the boards for the Lewis & Clark women's basketball team, collecting a team-high 12 rebounds on Tuesday night at Corban. Afolabi ended the night one rebound shy of tying the game-high as the Pioneers fell to the Warriors 71-49. 

Senior Tayler Wang led the Pioneers offensively, ending the night with a game-high 15 points, finishing a perfect four of four from the free-throw line. Katie Anderson chipped in 14 points for the Pioneers, while Casey Zinn finished one point shy of double figures scoring nine points. 

After Afolabi, Wang was the Pios leading rebounder collecting six boards, while Daron Dean concluded the contest with five. 

Tara Anweerdhuizen was the only player to earn a double-double, scoring 15 points and pulling down 13 rebounds for the Warriors. Jade Lowery also scored 15 points on the night and Julia Young knocked down 10 points for Corban. 

The Pioneers return to action on Sunday, Dec. 29 in California in the Purple & Gold Classic hosted by Whittier.
