Volleyball Nears End of First Half of NWC Play With 3-1 Loss at Pacific

FOREST GROVE, Ore. -The Lewis & Clark volleyball team moved one game closer to wrapping up the first half of Northwest Conference action on Friday night with a 3-1 loss at Pacific. The Boxers earned a 25-19, 25-19, 26-28, 25-20 win over the visiting Pioneers.

The loss drops the Pioneers to 4-9 on the season and 3-4 in NWC action. The Boxers improve to 5-9 overall and 4-3 in conference.

Junior Kataleya Milan ended the match with a team-high 20 kills and .206 attacking percentage. Milan also ended the night with 13 digs and a service ace. Brigitte Russo finished the evening with 18 kills. Kelsie Dorpat once again had a solid night for the Pioneer offense, averaging 11.3 assists per set, for a team-high 45 assists. Freshman Tessa Belanger led the Pios with two blocks, while Alexe Navarro picked up a team-high 17 digs.

Una Areta led all players iwth 24 kills, while teammate Mariah McHolland knocked down 13 and Jamie Steach 10.

The Pioneers return to action on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 7 p.m. at Pacific Lutheran.
