Volleyball Falls to Concorida 3-0 in Home Opener

PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark volleyball team opened home play on Tuesday night, taking on Concordia, with the Cavaliers pulling out wins in three straight sets for the victory.

The Cavaliers (4-4) earned a 25-20 win over the Pioneers in the first set, before picking up a 25-21 win in the second. The Pioneers (2-3) made things interesting for the Cavs throughout the third set, before falling 25-22.

Senior Jennifer Dowdy led the way for the Pioneers offensively, finishing with a match-high 19 kills. Kayla Ernewein had a solid night at the net, coming up with three blocks (two assist/one solo), while freshman Alexi Provost-Shean came up with two block assists in her home debut.

Jackie Stein finished the night with 15 kills for the Cavs, while teammate Lindsey Montgomery knocked down nine.

Next up for the Pioneers is Camosun College as part of the Evergreen State Tournament. The two teams will face off on Thursday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. The tournament can be viewed here.
