Game One

PORTLAND, Ore. The Lewis & Clark softball team fell to the George Fox Bruins in game one of their double-header Saturday afternoon 2-1. The Pioneers fall to 0-12 overall and 0-9 in the NWC. The Bruins improve to 11-8 on the season and 6-3 in conference play.
George Fox started out inning two with a homerun from McKenzie Beeson. The Bruins earned three more hits in the inning with a single from Kerrianne Davidson down the left line, a bunt single from Nicole Renteria and from Mckynna Towery.
The Bruins came back in the fifth inning to score their second run with Jenny Milton coming across home after a sacrifice fly from Bethany Chriss.
Jet'aime Mullins scored the only run for the Pioneers in the bottom of the seventh inning after a double to left field from Natalie Rose.
Despite soggy conditions in the outfield Pioneer outfielders Kelsey Buck and Caitlin Relyea both made solid plays for Lewis & Clark.
Rachel Fiedler earned the win for the Bruins. Madison Hollenbeck pitched for the Pioneers.
Game Two and both games for tomorrow have been postponed due to rain.
