PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark volleyball team earned a hard fought 3-2 win over the George Fox Bruins on Friday night in the Pioneers first Northwest Conference contest at home this season.

The Pioneers, who improve to 5-8 overall (1-2 NWC), earned their revenge on the Bruins after falling to George Fox earlier in the season during the Northwest Conference Invitational. The Bruins fall to 6-6 on the season and 1-2 in conference play.

Lewis & Clark fell in the first set but bounced back to earn victories in both the second and third. George Fox clawed its way back in the fourth set to even the math to 2-2. The fifth and final set began as a back and forth chess match, before the Pioneers took control of the lead for good on a Bruin attacking error.

Freshman outside hitter Kataleya Milan was the Pioneers go-to player on offense, finishing the contest with a team-high 14 kills on 63 attacks. Senior Margaret Dowling finished with eight kills, while freshman Brigitte Russo contributed seven. The Pioneer finished with five aces to the Bruins zero, with Milan and Elena Hoff each picking up two and Russo putting down one. 

Erin Campbell led all players with a match-high 22 kills for George Fox, while teammate Stephanie Kerr earned 15. Patti Reeves led the Bruins defensively with a match-high 30 digs.

The Pioneers return to the court on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m. when they host Pacific.
