Women's Basketball Takes Down Linfield 70-62

McMINNVILLE, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark women's basketball team took down the Linfield Wildcats 70-62 on Tuesday night in a key Northwest Conference match-up. Northwest Conference Athlete of the Week, Megan Spence, ended the night with a team-high 18 points in the Pioneers win.

The Pioneers improve to 16-4 on the season and 10-1 in NWC action. The Wildcats fall to 9-10 overall and 4-6 in conference play.

Spence ended the night 7-11 from the floor on her way to 18 points, while finishing 3-4 from the charity stripe. She also contributed on the defensive side of things, pulling down six rebounds. Sophomore Kristina Williams finished the night with 13 points and six rebounds in the Pioneers victory. Junior Margaret Dowling had a solid night for the Pios with 10 points and a game-high seven boards.

Kaely Maltman scored a game-high 22 points in the Wildcat loss, while teammate Gretchen Owens scored 14.

The Pioneers return to action on Saturday, Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. when they travel to Newburg to face the George Fox Bruins.
