NEWBURG, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark volleyball team hit the road on Friday to take on the George Fox Bruins in a Northwest Conference match-up. The Pioneers extended their win streak to five games after taking down the Bruins 3-2.
The Pioneers improve to 11-10 overall and 7-4 in conference action. The Bruins slip to 7-13 on the season and 2-9 in the NWC.
Junior Jennifer Dowdy led the way for Lewis & Clark, knocking down 16 kills, while freshman Kataleya Milan added 13. Freshman Brigitte Russo finished the night with 10 kills, while also having five blocks. Junior Leia Matsunaga led the Pioneer offense with 45 assists and helped the on defense with 17 digs. Milan and Elena Hoff led the Pios in digs with 25 each.
Erin Campbell led the Bruins with 14 kills, while teammate Stephanie Kerr had 13. Mackenzie Teigen handed out 26 assists and Chelsea Wilson finished with 22.
Lewis & Clark returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. against Pacific in Forest Grove, Ore.
