THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - The Lewis & Clark
volleyball team continues to compete in the Cal Lutheran
Cal-Lu-Fornia Invitational, which began Friday and
concludes Saturday evening.
The Pioneers opened play on Saturday against UC Santa Cruz. The
Banana Slugs picked up a 3-1 victory in the match winning by the
scores 25-15, 14-25, 25-21 and 25-18.
Lewis & Clark closed out the tournament with a rematch
against the Whittier Poets, who took down the Pios 3-1 last weekend
at the Northwest Conference Invitational. The Pios went into the
match with fire and it paid off as the team picked up a 3-1 win on
Saturday night. The squad earned a 25-22 win in the first set,
before dominating the second set for a 25-12 win. The Poets fought
back in the third set, determined not to be swept, picking up a
25-21 win. Lewis & Clark ended the match in the fourth set,
winning 25-22.
The Pioneers return to the court on Friday, Sept. 17 when they
open Northwest Conference action at home against the George Fox
Bruins at 7 p.m.
