GAME 1
GAME 2
PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark softball team
dropped two games to the visiting Corban Warriors on Saturday
afternoon at the Houston Sports Complex. The Warriors earned a 10-1
win in the first game before picking up a 6-1 win in the second
game.
Two five run innnings sank the Pioneers chances of a home opening
win. Paige McFeeley picked up the loss for the Pioneers in the
opening game, while Michaela Satter scored the Pios lone run.
Game two proved to be more of a defensive battle in the opening
innings, with Kristin Breninger retiring six of the first eight
batters she faced in the opening two innings. The Warriors were
able to get a run across in the third inning on a double to right
center that sent Liane Dehart home.
Corban scored a second run in the fifth inning, but the Pioneers
were able to respond in the bottom half of the inning with a run of
their own. Jet'aime Mullins came around to score the Pios run,
after coming in to pinch rum for first baseman Danielle Blechert
who reached on a single to left. Jet'iame Mullins advanced to third
after a single from Satter and eventually made her way home on a
Gabby Castro single to right field.
The fifth inning run was the only one that the Pioneers would be
able to get across the plate, but not before the Warriors added
four more to their lead.
The Pioneers return to the diamond on Feb. 20 when they take part
in the Concordia Tournament hosted by Concordia University.
