ATHERTON, Calif. – Junior Megan Spence had a standout game for the Lewis & Clark women's basketball team on Monday afternoon in game two of the Menlo Winter Classic, knocking down a game-high 22 points in the Pioneers 66-50 victory over Occidental College.
Spence ended her day shooting 9-17 from the floor, while finishing 4-6 from the free-throw line. The 6-0 post was no slouch on defense, collecting a game-high nine rebounds and four blocks, while stealing the ball three times.
Neva Hauser was the Pioneers next leading scorer, contributing 15 points to the teams assault. Sophomore Kristina Williams was one rebound away from her second double-double of the season, scoring 12 points and pulling down nine boards. Williams 12 points marks the eighth time this season she has finished in double-digits in scoring. Junior Margaret Dowling collected eight rebounds for the Pioneers, while coming up with a team-high five steals.
The Pioneers return to the court on Tuesday, Dec. 21 when they face classic host Menlo at 4 p.m.
