CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Lewis & Clark volleyball team picked up its first wins of the seaon on Saturday, starting with a 3-2 win over Occidental (18-25, 23-25, 25-16, 25-19, 15-9) in its final game of the Pacific Coast Classic. The Pioneers then headed to Whittier where they ruined the Poets season opener, defeating them in three sets (29-27, 25-20, 25-18). Earlier in the day the Pios fell to UC Santa Cruz (19-25, 23-25, 23-25), taking their overall record to 2-4 on the season.

The Pios return to the court on Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 6 p.m., taking on Concordia on the road, for a rematch of their season opener just a week earlier.
