Match One: Claremont-M-S
Match Two: LaVerne
CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Lewis & Clark
volleyball team didn't open the Pacific Coast Classic the way it
had hoped, slipping to the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in
four in the first match of the day, before falling to No.
3 LaVerne in match two. Against Claremont-M-S, the Pioneers picked
up a win in set one, rolling past the Athenas 26-24 before dropping
the next three sets (13-25,21-25,21-25). The
Pioneers jumped out early against LaVerne taking the
first two sets but LaVerne would rally to take the next three and
the match (25-21, 26-24, 21-25, 19-25, 13-15).
"I'm very pleased with the way the team responded in match two.
They didn't let LaVerne's rank phase them. They did everything that
we asked them to," said head coach Lori Jepsen.
