Game One
Game Two
PARKLAND, Wash., - Pacific Lutheran plated 20 runs
extinguishing Lewis & Clark softball's hope of a weekend
split. PLU earned a 9-0 win in game one of Sunday's
double-header before picking up an 11-2 win in game two. The
Pioneers fall to 0-5 on the season and 0-4 in the Northwest
Conference, while Pacific Lutheran improves to 5-7 overall and 4-2
in the NWC.
The Lutes out hit the Pioneers 10-2 in game one, scoring six runs
in the bottom of the fourth inning to seal the victory.
Jamie Moon was two for two at the plate in game two, driving in one
run in the fifth and final inning of play. The inning would begin
with Jessica Mullins leading off with a double to left field,
followed up with a single by Jennifer Mullins. Moon's single
up the third base line would bring Jennifer Mullins across home
plate for the first Pioneer run of the game. Kristin Breninger
would score the final Pio run, following a sacrifice fly by Laura
Parker. Despite the two runs in the top of the fifth, it would not
be enough to push past the 11 runs the Lutes collected in the first
four innings.
The Pioneers return to the diamond on March 10, returning home to
once again take on Corban at the Houston Sports Complex. Game one
will begin following the conclusion of the game from last Wednesday
scheduled to start at 1:00.
