Corban took the lead just seconds into the game with a layup by

the half. A fast-break layup by junior Christina Herring with 10:50
on the clock put the Pioneers up 16-14, setting the tone for the
remainder of the game. The Pioneers jumped ahead by as many as 11

jumper with 3:03 remaining to make the score 28-17. The Warriors
would earn some points back, sending the Pioneers into the locker
room with a 32-25 advantage.
The Warriors came out strong in the opening stages of the second
half, cutting the Pioneer lead to 35-31 just three minutes into the

the next five minutes before the Pioneers found their shooting
rhythm. A thee-point shot from Herring with 11:14 on the clock

double-digits, giving the Pios a 52-42 lead. The Pioneers pushed
the lead to 20 points with 4:26 left to play with a successful
free-throw shot from freshman Sara Villanueava. Following
Villanueava's first made free-throw the Pioneers would close
out the game on a 9-4 run to pick up the 72-48 victory.
