Fiedler who added 13 kills and hit .417 on the
night, the visiting Lewis & Clark
Pioneers defeated Northwest Conference foe Willamette 3-0 on
Saturday night. The Pioneers took down the Bearcats 25-21, 25-20
and 25-20 to cruise to their fourth straight conference win to
improve to 9-5 on the season and 5-1 in conference. The Bearcats
fall to 5-9 overall and 2-4 in NWC play.
Fiedler's 13 kills were a match-high, while the 6-3 middle
hitter also contributed two solo blocks and three block assists.
Freshman Leia Matsunaga ended her night with a match-high 36
assists, while Brigit Miller had a team-high 30 assists for the
Bearcats.
Junior Lou Ohki had a match-high 21 digs for the Pioneers, while
Matsunaga ended with 10 digs of her own. The Pioneers best set
proved to be the third, where they hit .393 as a team, producing 14
kills on 28 attempts, while only committing three errors.
The Pioneers had a 41-40 advantage in kills, while
only committing two service errors to the Bearcats nine.
Lewis & Clark returns to the court on Tuesday, Oct. 6 when
they host Corban at 7 p.m. at the Pamplin Sports Complex.
