Dashiell Weaver was named the Northwest Conference Football Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.

Weaver, who transferred from NCAA DI Fresno State University, threw for 359 yards and five touchdowns in Saturday's season-opening 56-20 win over host University of Puget Sound. He is the first Pioneers quarterback to earn the award, since
Trey Morris was recognized on October 2, 2023.Ā

Weaver dominated the Loggers. He finished the contest 24-35 for 359 yards, five passing touchdowns and one interception. He also led Lewis & Clark with 89 rushing yards on seven attempts. The sophomore threw all five of his touchdowns in the first half and led Lewis & Clark to six touchdowns on their eight first-half drives. He threw for 180 yards and three touchdowns in the second quarter and tacked on 44 rushing yards in the stanza to stretch the Lewis & Clark lead to 42-6 by halftime.Ā

His five touchdown passes were one shy of the program record for touchdown passes in a single game and touchdown passes by a Pioneers quarterback in their first start. Lewis & Clark Hall of Famer Mike Fanger threw six touchdown passes in a single game three times, including six in the team's 1988 season opening 49-42 win over Simon Fraser University. Weaver's 359 passing yards rank 25

As a team, Lewis & Clark racked up 679 yards on offense. It marked the team's most yards in a single-game since 1989 and ranks third all-time in program history.Ā
