Women's track & field had a large group of runners compete on their home track at the Portland Twilight Meet. Sophomore thrower

Heien put together the standout performance of the night at Eldon Fix Track. The junior shaved off over two seconds off her program-record time in the 800M to finish ninth out of 29 competitors. Heien crossed the line in 2:11.17 to post the 22
nd-fastest time in NCAA DIII this season. Sophomore
Melissa Zurla placed 26
thĀ in the event with a time of 2:37.97. Sophomores
Carolyn Mayberry and
DJ Kendrick finished in 27

thĀ overall. Mayberry ran a PR time of 2:41.01 and Kendrick posted a time of 2:47.87.Ā

Elsie Chin added a top-15 time in program history in the 200M to lead a trio of Pioneers. Chin crossed the line in 26.48 to finish second out of seven runners in the event. Sophomore
Callow Soto took third place with a time of 27.06. Mayberry notched a PR mark of 29.53 to finish seventh.Ā

Chin added a second-place finish in the 400M Hurdles. The junior registered a time of 1:05.62 to finish behind a runner from NCAA DI University of Portland.Ā

Soto finished in fourth place in the 400M. She posted a mark of 1:00.25.Ā

Madeleine Boyle graduated in the afternoon and then led four Pioneers in the 5,000M. Boyle came across in 14
thĀ place with a time of 18:04.40. Heien finished second in the event with a mark of 18:28.73. First year

Miriam Reside finished back-to-back in 21
stĀ and 22
ndĀ places. Tomhave finished in 19:54.41 and Reside posted a time of 20:10.74.Ā

Mackenzie Olver led the team in the 1,500M. Olver registered a PR time of 5:31.68 to finish 25
thoverall. Junior
Ali Kerschner took 26

Lewis & Clark entered one relay team on the evening. Kendrick, Zurla, Tomhave and Olver ran the 4x400M as a quartet for the first time. The Pioneers ran solo and posted a time of 4:43.36.Ā

PAC-12 OPEN RECAPĀ

Singleton competed in a trio of throwing events at the Pac-12 Open on Saturday afternoon.Ā

The sophomore finished third in the hammer throw with a mark of 34.70M (113-10 Feet). Singleton came in fifth in the shot put, when she launched the implement 11.16M (36-07.50 Feet). In her final event of the day, she posted a mark of 28.68M (94-01 Feet) in the discus to place fifth overall.Ā

BY THE NUMBERS
- Heien beat her PR time in the 800M by 2.14 seconds. Her new PR time of 2:11.17 is 2.95 seconds faster than the second-fastest runner in school history.Ā
- Chin now sits in the top-15 in program history in the 200M, 400M and 400M Hurdles. She also ranks 40thoverall in program history in the 100M.Ā
- With her time in the 800M, Heien is right on the bubble for a spot in the NCAA DIII Championship Meet. The NCAA takes the top-22 in each event to go to Nationals.Ā
