Isaac Ticeson Earns First Career All-Conference Honors

The senior forward was named to the NWC All-Conference Second Team

HILLSBORO, Ore.—Lewis & Clark College men's basketball senior forward Isaac Ticeson earned his first career Northwest Conference All-Conference honors, the league office announced on Tuesday afternoon.

Ticeson carved out a spot on the NWC All-Conference Second Team after helping lead Lewis & Clark to their first NWC Tournament appearance in a decade and their first NWC Tournament Title since 2002.

The senior forward led the team with his 5.9 rebounds per game, 36 offensive rebounds and 56.0 field goal percentage. He's third on the team with his 10.6 points per game and 10 total blocks. Ticeson averaged 23.3 minutes per game (tied for second on the team) in 18 appearances (13 starts). He knocked down 84 of 150 field goal attempts and went 23-36 (63.9 percent) from the free throw line. The Renton, Washington native tacked on 22 assists and 15 steals.

Ticeson missed the team's first eight games of the season with an injury and was brought back into the lineup slowly. He earned his first start of the season in the team's second NWC contest and started 13 of the team's final 17 games. He led Lewis & Clark in conference games by averaging a team-high 11.4 points and 6.1 rebounds (tied for first) per game. He also shot 56.7 percent from the field and 30 of his 85 rebounds (35.3 percent) were on the offensive glass.

The senior recorded double-digit points in eight of his final 15 appearances, including finishing with 20 or more points four times. He notched his first collegiate double-doubles in in wins over Whitman College (20 points, 14 rebounds) and Linfield University (18 points and 10 rebounds).

Ticeson put together his best performance of the year in the Pioneers' road win over George Fox on March 21 that clinched an NWC Tournament spot. He recorded a career-high 30 points on 13-19 shooting and added nine rebounds, two steals, one block and one assist. With the Pioneers trailing 69-66 with 30 seconds left in regulation, Ticeson stole the inbounds pass and hit a fast-break layup while being fouled, to start a possession where he scored five points. The game would go on to overtime and he would add six more points to help Lewis & Clark earn an 85-83 win over the Bruins.

Ticeson ranks sixth in the conference in rebounds per game and 14th in blocked shots per game. His 30 points against George Fox were tied for the sixth-most by any NWC player in a conference game this season.

In two seasons at Lewis & Clark, Ticeson has recorded 453 points (10.3 per game), 228 rebounds (5.2 per game) and shot 57.1 percent from the field in 44 games (37 starts).

Lewis & Clark will face-off against St. Thomas (Texas) on Friday night at 5:35 p.m. (Pacific) in the NCAA DIII Tournament First Round. Video and a Lewis & Clark audio stream will be available.
