Ā
Lewis & Clark jumped out to a great start, as Meinhard caused a turnover, scooped up the ground ball and scored just 33 seconds into the game. Redlands briefly took a 2-1 lead with just over five minutes to go in the quarter, but Gonzales responded just over a minute later to tie the game at 2-2 with 4:23 left in the first.Ā
Ā
The Bulldogs took the lead just over two minutes into the second quarter and scored three goals in 1:45 to grab a 6-2 lead with 8:07 to go in the quarter. They added one final tally to go into the break leading 7-2.
Ā
Redlands scored the first two goals of the third, within the first three minutes, and looked like they were going to run away with the game.Ā Ā
Ā
After not scoring for over 30 minutes, Lewis & Clark scored three goals in a 1:56 span to get back into the game.Ā
Ā
Searle scored two goals in a 53-second span to make it 9-4 and Swegle added a goal 63 seconds later to bring Lewis & Clark within four heading into the final quarter.Ā
Ā
Searle set up Swegle for a goal 2:38 into the fourth to bring Lewis & Clark back within three (9-6) but that's as close as they would get.Ā
Ā
Redlands scored back-to-back goals to push the lead to 11-6 and even a Searle goal wasn't enough to spark a comeback.Ā
