Shanan Rosenberg Steps Down

Lead assistant coach Shawn Carson will serve as the acting head coach

PORTLAND, Ore.—Lewis & Clark men's basketball coach Shanan Rosenberg stepped down from his role leading the program on Thursday afternoon.

""I want to thank coach Shanan Rosenburg for the hard work and effort he put into our men's basketball program," Director of Physical Education & Athletics Mark Pietrok said. "I wish him and his family much success in their next chapter of their journey."

Rosenberg took over the program in June and helped bring in a class of six players over the summer. The River Otters are off to a 4-5 start that includes road wins over the University of La Verne, Whittier College and East Texas Baptist University.

"I want to thank President Dr. Robin Holmes-Sullivan, Athletic Director Mark Pietrok, the student-athletes, my colleagues and alumni of Lewis & Clark College for this impactful opportunity," Rosenberg stated. "I depart to explore new opportunities that await in my professional and personal life. I wish the entire Lewis & Clark community nothing but continued success."

Lead assistant coach Shawn Carson will serve as the program's acting head coach. Carson joined the staff ahead of the 2024-25 season and helped guide men's basketball to their first Northwest Conference Tournament Title and NCAA Tournament appearance since 2002. He has served as the team's acting head coach for the past four games and led Lewis & Clark to a 2-2 mark during that span.
