Box Score WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Lewis & Clark College women's tennis return to the Northwest Conference Tournament did not end how they would have liked, but the team looks to improve on this year's successes after a 5-0 loss to Whitman College in the semi-finals.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The number two and number three doubles matches finished within minutes of each other as the Pioneers quickly fell behind 2-0.
Freshman
Susanna Anand and sophomore
Kacie Lau fell 8-0 at the two spot to Teleya Blunt and Jin Yu. Moments later, junior
Arielle Bloom and sophomore
Hayley Kreps dropped an 8-1 decision to Iliana Jha and Camilla Tarpey-Schwed at No. 3 doubles. Sophomore
Caren Uribe and junior
Seraphina Vossen won two games in the No. 1 doubles match but lost 8-2 to Angel Le and Sascha Wells.
Bloom faced Yu in the No. 3 singles match, falling in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Vossen then fell at No. 4 singles 6-0, 6-1 Jha.
BY THE NUMBERS
- At No. 6 singles, Lau dropped the first set 6-2, but was up 2-1 in the second when play ended.
- Anand was down 6-1, 5-1 to Le in the unfinished No. 1 singles match.
- The No. 2 singles match saw Uribe down 6-0. 3-0 to Tarpey-Schwed.
- Kreps dropped the first set 6-0 at the five spot but was only down 3-2 when play was stopped.
