PORTLAND, Ore. – Lewis & Clark College women's tennis junior
Susanna Anand has been voted to the All-Northwest Conference Women's Tennis First Team for the second straight year, giving the Troutdale, Oregon, native three consecutive All-NWC selections.
Anand anchored the Pioneers at No. 1 singles all season and closed the spring with an 11-9 overall record, including a 6-5 mark in league play. The former NWC Rookie of the Year earned Second Team recognition as a first-year and has now followed with back-to-back First Team nods.
Her fall campaign set the tone as Anand stormed to the championship match at the 2024 ITA Division III Women's Northwest Regional Championships. The junior dispatched fellow All-NWC standouts Chloe Takahashi and Teleya Blunt along the way. Anand's run vaulted her to No. 8 in the final regional rankings of the fall and left her one victory shy of ITA All-America status.
In doubles, Anand partnered with sophomore
Charlotte Makoni at the top spot. The duo finished 8-13 overall and 5-9 in conference action, notching notable wins over the top teams from George Fox, Hardin-Simmons, Linfield and Puget Sound.
Anand is the first Lewis & Clark player to earn back-to-back First Team honors since Christine Eliazo in 2017-18.
