Malia Heien won the 400m and junior
Macy O'Hara and sophomore
Cameryn Nagaji posted third-place finishes to lead the Pioneers in their final tune-up before the Northwest Conference Championship Meet.Ā

After the meet concluded, Lewis & Clark honored the six member of their senior class:
Sean Bodi,
Sarah Carney,
Hanna Callinan,
Gillian Pifer,
Andrew Scott and
Elijah Woody. The six student-athletes took one last run around the track as a group and then were celebrated by their teammates and coaches.

Heien broke the one-minute mark in the 400m for the first time in her collegiate career to defeat a field of 29-runners. Her time of 59.28 was just under .5 seconds faster than the second-place finisher from Western Oregon. Freshman
Elsie Chin took 15
thĀ in the event with a time of 1:04.98.Ā

O'Hara took third in the 200m with a PR time of her own. She broke 26 seconds in the 200m for the first time in her career with a time of 25.96. Freshman
Miriam Reside placed 39
thĀ with a mark of 31.32.Ā

Nagaji led a quartet of Pioneers in the triple jump. The reigning Northwest Conference Champion in the event posted the second-best mark of her season to place third overall. Her final jump of the day traveled 10.63m (34-10.50 feet) to put in her in third behind athletes from Multnomah and Southern Oregon. Sophomore
Olivia Farrar placed fifth in the event with a jump of 10.36m (34-00.00 feet). Freshmen

Piper McCoy Harmon led three Lewis & Clark throwers in the shot put. McCoy Harmon finished fifth out of 33 entrants with a throw of 11.45m (37-06.75 feet). Fellow freshman
Nia Pile came in just behind her, as Pile's best throw of 10.87m (35-08.00 feet) put her in seventh place. Freshman
Autumn Loporto came in 18
thwith a heave of 9.44m (30-11.75 feet).Ā

McCoy Harmon also led the Pioneers in the discus throw. She posted a mark of 33.38m (109-06 feet) to finish 15

Lucey paced four Pioneers in the 800m. She came in 31

Katya Schwieterman crossed the line in 2:37.55 to finish in 34

Carney finished in 20
thĀ place in the 100m hurdles with a time of 20.21. In the 400m hurdles, Carroll (1:21.82) and Carney (1:22.83) ended the race in 17

The Pioneers had one relay team compete on Saturday. The 4x100m relay team of Carney, Farrar, Chin and Reside came in eighth place with a time of 55.62.Ā

BY THE NUMBERS
- Heien's time in the 400m ranks sixth in program history and is the third-best mark in the NWC this season. Chin's time in the 400m (1:04.98) is the 40th-fastest time in program history.Ā
- O'Hara's time in the 200m (25.96) moves her up into eighth in program history. She goes into the NWC Championship Meet with the fourth-best time in the conference this year.Ā
- McCoy Harmon posted a PR markĀ ofĀ over 2 feet in the shot put to move into eighth place in program history in the event (11.45m). Pile added a PR of her own and now sits in 16thĀ with a mark of 10.87m. Loporto moved into 33rdĀ in program history with her PR throw of 9.44m.Ā
- Buese is now 11thĀ in program history in the 1,500m (4:48.19) after shaving over a second off her PR time. Lucey joined her in the top-30 in the event after her time of 4:59.11 moved her into 26thĀ place.Ā

The Pioneers will travel to Salem, Oregon on Friday and Saturday for the 2023 Northwest Conference Championship Meet. Both men's and women's track & field enter the weekend sitting on seven team points, after this past week's NWC Multis Event.
