PORTLAND, Ore.—Lewis & Clark College men's track & field won five events to finish in third place at the L&C Friday Night Lights Meet on a wet and chilly Friday night at Eldon Fix Track.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Freshmen
Nick Stade,
Jordan Lahusky and
Noah Nelson were each part of two wins on Friday night to help lead the Pioneers.
For the second-straight week, Stade won the 400m hurdles. The Pioneers freshman defeated a seven-man field by over three seconds when he crossed the line in 56.83. Stade also added points when he finished in fifth in the high jump (1.70m/5-07.00 feet).
Lahusky earned his first collegiate win in the 100m and nearly doubled up as he finished second in the 200m. In the 100m, Lahusky topped a field of 27 competitors when he posted a time of 11.09. Junior

To start off the meet, Lahusky finished second out of 42 in the 200m. He was edged by .19 seconds by Multnomah University's Roderick Soto, with Lahusky finishing in a new collegiate-best time of 22.08. Guest finished 16

Nelson was the Pioneers lone representative in the 800m. He defeated the seven-athlete field with ease, as his time of 1:57.05 was more than 2.5 seconds faster than the second-place competitor.
Sophomore
Max Aldrich claimed the fourth and final individual first-place finish of the day. He led seven Pioneers and 25 total runners with a finishing time of 3:58.02 in the 1,500m. Junior
Miles Voenell (4:13.63) and sophomore
Will Dennis (4:14.61) placed second and third on the team and ninth and 10
th overall. Sophomore
Peter Ford came across in 14
th place (4:18.85). Juniors
Brendan Creeks (4:20.71),
Nate Bay (4:22.39) and
Dylan Souza (4:26.75) finished back-to-back-back in 16-18
th places.
The Pioneers added their final win in the 4x400m relay. The quartet of Guest, Stade, Lahusky and Nelson defeated six other relay teams with a final time of 3:25.35. Lewis & Clark's second relay team of Biaggi, Dennis, Creeks and Fritz took fifth place in 3:42.42.
In the 400m dash, senior
Sean Bodi won his heat and finished fourth overall with a mark of 53.80. Fritz took 12
th place when he finished in 54.74.
Sophomore
Mike Reem led four Pioneers in the 3,000m steeplechase. Reem claimed fifth place after finishing in 10:31.40. Sophomore
Connor Harrod finished second on the team and seventh overall (10:39.09). Junior
Brandon Apresa (11:02.91) and freshman
Joseph Naylor (11:12.58) placed 11
th and 12
th overall.
In the final track event of the day, freshmen
Theron Plumb (16:01.60) and
Rigo Castellanos (16:19.36) finished in 18
th and 24
th places respectively.
Freshman
Andrew Baum earned the best finish of any Pioneer male field athlete. He took home third place in the shot put with a heave of 12.96m (42-06.25 feet). Senior
Elijah Woody joined Baum in the finals and ended the event in ninth place (10.99m/36-00.75). Freshman
Andrew Fletcher finished in 13
th (10.67m/35-00.25 feet).
Fritz led five Pioneers throwers in the discus. Fritz posted a sixth-place showing when he launched the discus 35.74m (117-03 feet). Baum finished second on the team and 12
th overall with a throw of 32.86m (107-09 feet). Woody was just behind Baum in 13
th after tossing it 30.26m (99-03 feet). Stade (26.54m/87-01 feet) and Fletcher (76-01 feet) finished in 17
th and 19
th.
Bodi was the lone Lewis & Clark long jumper on the day. He leapt 5.88m (19-03.50 feet) to finish in eighth place.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Lahusky moved up five spots from 14th to 9th in program history in the 200m (22.08). He also cracked the top-20 in the 100m with a time of 11.09 (19th overall).
- Nelson's mark of 1:57.05 in the 800m is the 32nd fastest time in program history.
- Baum cracked the top-50 in program history in the shot put on Friday, when his throw of 12.96m moved him into 48th place. He's the first thrower since 2018 to make the list.
- Aldrich just missed tying his career-best time in the 1,500m by .02 seconds.
- The Pioneers finished second behind only NAIA schools College of Idaho (121 points) and Eastern Oregon University (95.5 points).
