Box Score 2 CLAREMONT, Calif. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers concluded their series with the Pomona-Pitzer Sagehens with a pair of defeats on Saturday at Alumni Field.
Jack Thomson hit the Pios' first home run of the year and had two doubles in a 10-7 loss to open the day. The Sagehens had six extra-base hits in a 20-5 victory in the finale.
Lewis & Clark lost all three games at Pomona-Pitzer to begin the weekend and will look to Sunday for their first victory. The Pioneers round out their first southern California trip at Whittier.

Game 1 | Key Moments
Trailing 4-1 after two, Jacob Serafini hit an RBI single, and Mason Lee brought in a run on a sacrifice fly, to narrow the gap to one in the fourth inning.
In the fifth, Thomson followed Justin Bailey's lead-off single with a double. Bailey scored on a balk, and Thomson scored on a groundout by Luke Bass to give the Pios their first lead of the 2022 season.
Pomona-Pitzer scored two in each the fifth and sixth innings before Thomson's second run of the day came on a wild pitch in the seventh. Thomson homered in the ninth and finished 3 for 5 with three runs scored.
Tyler Shimabukuro pitched 4-1/3 innings, allowed six hits, five earned runs and struck out three in the start.
Game 2 | Key Moments
The Sagehens (3-0) scored 20 runs on 16 hits and two Pios errors in the finale. Kevin Lo had three hits and six RBI. James Schmidt hit three triples.
Jakob Ghammachi went 3 for 4 to lead the Pios offensively. He hit a fifth-inning solo home run, a two-RBI single in the sixth and an RBI double in the eighth. Bass also homered and walked twice.
Kris Wuelfing took the loss in two innings as the starter. Tal Jones pitched one inning of hitless ball, while Casey Parsons allowed one run on one hit over two innings as the last of five Pios pitchers.
