Key Moments
The lower flights in both singles and doubles sealed the win for the Pios. Vives beat Jessica Eligio, 6-0, 6-0, for Lewis & Clark's highest singles win in third position. Bloom fought through a lengthy third set for a victory, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6, against V. Casab-Klescova.
"Our depth helped us out a lot today, but there is so much more to work on," head coach Jimmy Chau said. "Our younger players are still learning how to compete, so it was nice to see them come out on top of some close matches that could have swung the match momentum the other way very easily.
"A comeback win at three doubles really set the table for the rest of the afternoon. Arielle Bloom avenged a loss she had to her opponent in the fall ITA with an electrically-charged win in the third set tiebreaker."
Eadie Poulsen and Hayley Kreps won 8-6 in the No. 3 doubles match over Gillian Mead and Riya Patel. Lewis & Clark also took the second doubles match with Rachael Rice and Bloom beating Eligio and Casab-Klescova, 8-2.
Kreps' win at No. 6 singles clinched the match, 6-2, 6-0, against Patel.
