Key Moments
Rice won a first-set tiebreaker over Lauren Kreutzer in the top singles match and springboarded it to a straight-sets win, 7-6 (7-6), 6-4. Rice's doubles partner, Vives, was victorious at No. 3 with a 6-2, 6-2 result against Leiana Almaraz.
The duo won 8-4 in the top doubles match against Taylor Johnson and Kreutzer.
"Maca played exceptionally well with co-captain Rachael against a big-hitting Yotes duo at No. 1," head coach Jimmy Chau said. "Maca played some of the best doubles I have seen in a while. The pair's familiarity with each other served them well again tonight."
Eadie Poulsen joined Uribe for an 8-2 win in the second position doubles match to give the Pios a fast start, according to Chau. Poulsen's singles match was a back-and-forth affair against Anna Willcuts. Poulsen won a lengthy tiebreaker in the first set and prevailed, 6-2 (12-10), 7-6.
"Eadie got her first singles win with a 12-10 in the set tiebreaker," Chau said. "Rice found herself down 4-1 in the second set, but reeled off five straight games for a really solid win as well."
