Key Moments
The Pios trailed 2-1 after the doubles matches. Poulsen and Kreps won 8-5 against Cassey Hitch and Abigail Bond.
"Almost across the board, we came out as a stronger and smarter team then the previous night," Pios head coach Jimmy Chau said. "Having started the season with an erratic practice schedule, we're still trying to figure out our doubles pairing, but it will come in due time. Eadie Poulsen and Hayley Kreps complimented each other well out there today and came away with their first doubles win in dual match season."
Maca Vives and Rice were close to a win in the top doubles match, but ultimately fell 8-6 to Brown and Wiker.
In No. 3 singles, Vives took the first set to a 7-5 finish. Olivia Morris won the pairing, 7-5, 6-1. Arielle Bloom did similarly in fourth position. Bloom lost 6-4, 7-5 to Brenna Vanderyacht. In No. 6 singles, Lauren Smith-Euben fell 7-5, 6-2 to Hitch.
"Singles action was highlighted by stellar play from senior captain, Rice," Chau said. "Taking on a Fall ITA quarterfinalist in Danielle Brown, Rice played flawlessly to a 6-0, 6-1 win. It was one of the most complete performances from Rachael I have seen in a while. She clearly came out determined today after having not played her best the previous night."
