HOW IT HAPPENED
Ā
The Pioneers scored in the 26th minute of the game when senior center back Alexa MyersĀ found junior forward Celeste Schreifels in the box. Schreifels's team-leading sixth goal of the season hit the lower left corner of the net. Myers picked up her second assist of the season, while freshman outside back Abby Morrow recorded her first career collegiate assist on the play.Ā
Ā
In the 44th minute, Myers appeared to cleared the ball off of Wildcat back Anna DazeyĀ and over the goal line, but the Wildcats were awarded a corner kick. Midfielder Izzy Chauls took the corner for the Wildcats and found a wide-open Sidra Griffin at the back post, and Griffin headed the ball in for the score.Ā
Ā
Lewis & Clark racked up nine shots and seven shots on target in the second half but couldn't find a way past Alexa Fritz. Lainey Honma and Brecklyn Beighle each forced diving saves and Abby Hayes forced a team save off a corner kick.Ā
