HOW IT HAPPENED

Junior goalie Sophia Young made six saves to record her fourth shutout of the season and 12th of her career.

The Pioneers dominated the first half as they controlled the possession 62% to 38% and outshot the Bearcats 4-1.

A free kick by junior Celeste Schreifels in the 49th minute sailed wide right and was the best chance for a Pioneers goal. In the 57th minute, junior Sophia Young made a diving save on a Sophie Cleland attempt to thwart the Bearcats' chance to put a point on the board. It was the first of six saves for the Pio keeper.

Willamette upped their offensive output late but seniors Alexa Myers and Olivia Cowley came through with several important interventions to keep the Bearcats off the scoreboard.

Senior Brecklyn Beighle led Lewis & Clark with four shots and two on goal.

BY THE NUMBERS
