McMINNVILLE, Ore. -- Top singles competitors Rachael Rice and Madelyn Landerfelt both won the first set of their matches for the Lewis & Clark Pioneers during Friday's Northwest Conference Championship semifinal. After the top-seeded Linfield Wildcats won all three doubles matches, Linfield won two singles matches down the table to clinch a 5-0 win.
Lewis & Clark's season ends with a 5-7 overall record and a sixth straight trip to the conference tournament.
Rice led Tessa Kern, and Landerfelt was ahead of Taryn Fujimori, in the top singles pairings when the match ended.

Rice took the opening set of the top singles match, 6-3, and trailed by a 2-1 margin in the second set. Meanwhile, Landerfelt won 6-3 in the opener and was behind 3-1 in the No. 2 singles match. Rice finishes the year with a 5-3 record overall and 4-2 in first position, while Landerfelt capped off her collegiate career with a 4-7 mark. She was 3-3 while competing at No. 2.
In doubles, Maca Vives and Rice were downed 8-2 to Haley Fujimori and Taryn Fujimori at No. 2. It was just the second loss this season for the pair, which finished the year with a 5-2 record.
Of the two singles matches to finish, Natalie Kowal lost the No. 4 singles match, 6-1, 6-3, to Haley Fujimori. In sixth position, Arielle Bloom fell 6-1, 6-0 to Maggie Fiocchi.
