McMINNVILLE, Ore. -- Without Ramez Attia in the singles lineup, and Miles Stone absent from both doubles and singles, the Lewis & Clark Pioneers had all of its competitors play up in a 5-4 defeat of the Linfield Wildcats on Sunday.
Kristian Peev won his second No. 1 singles match of the year and continued to roll in doubles with Riley Vickers. Vickers improved to 4-0 in No. 2 singles matches this season.
Jack Fiocco competed in his first-ever doubles match while making his second career singles appearance. Atticus Pallock was in No. 5 singles for the first time ever.

Key Moments
Peev and Vickers won 8-4 over Ethan Myers and Will Worth in the second doubles position, but Linfield emerged with a 2-1 lead. Shane Lynette and Attia had their win streak snapped by Cameron Ventura and Michael Manion in an 8-6 loss atop the doubles pairings. At No. 3, Daniel Lane and Fiocco fell 8-3 to Josef Shum and Gilbert Fuentes.
Lewis & Clark rallied on the singles side and took each of the top four matches in straight sets.
"We started pretty slow as a team, and credit to Linfield for taking advantage," Pios head coach Jimmy Chau said. "I loved how our men responded after being down after doubles and having Ramez and Miles out of singles too."
Peev beat Fuentes, 6-4, 6-4, while Vickers won 6-3, 6-1 over Manion. Battling injuries, Lynette eeked out a 7-6 (11-9), 6-3 win over Ventura in the third spot where he is 3-1 this season. Lane moved to 4-0 in fourth position with a 7-5, 6-2 win over Shum.
