Box Score 2 PORTLAND, Ore. -- Sammy Benbow, Luke Bass and Jack Thomson had extra-base hits, but the Lewis & Clark Pioneers lost both to the George Fox Bruins on Saturday at Huston Sports Complex.
Benbow's third-inning double scored one run, and Tyler Gannon added an RBI single in the seventh in a 12-2 defeat to start the day. Thomson hit a solo home run in the sixth inning for the Pios only run of the 11-1 finale.

Benbow went 2 for 4 and walked once to lead the Pioneers offensively. Lewis & Clark stranded 10 baserunners in the game after drawing six walks from George Fox starter Christopher Stone.
Dominic Monozon was replaced by Kris Wuelfing after 3 2/3 innings. Wuelfing faced more batters and allowed three runs on five hits over 5 1/3 innings. Wuelfing struck out three and walked two.
Key Moments | Game 2
Lewis & Clark was limited to three hits in the finale. Thomson hit a solo homer in the sixth, his third of the season. Bass and Benbow had the other hits for the Pios.
Noah Ferruggia had a strong start to the game on the mound for the Pios. He struck out the side in the first and retired seven of the first nine batters he faced. Other than back-to-back solo home runs to open the fourth inning, Ferruggia had the Pios trailing 2-0 through the fourth inning.
George Fox opened the game up in the fifth when Brandon King and Marc Audet hit an RBI single and two-RBI home run, respectively. The Bruins added five more runs in the seventh.
Brayden Nomura and Brian Tatman combined to pitch the final two innings. Of the six runs they allowed, only one was earned. Lewis & Clark committed three errors.
