PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers opened the season with a 7-0 defeat at the Portland State Vikings on Sunday at Tualatin Hills Babette Horenstein Tennis Center.
Kristian Peev took the most games from his opponent in a 6-2, 6-3 defeat to Nikola Dimitrijevic in the second position. Riley Vickers went 6-3, 6-0 in a loss to Nils Plutat at No. 3.
Miles Stone and Daniel Lane, in the first collegiate competition of their careers, had the best showing for the Pios in doubles. The pair lost 6-4 to Bryan Husin and Dimitrijevic.

In No. 1 singles, Ramez Attia made his season debut in a 6-2, 6-1 defeat to Tommy Edwards. Attia and Shane Lynette paired for the top doubles spot, losing 6-3 to Matteo Fortini and Edwards.
