SALEM, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers defeated the Willamette Bearcats for the second time this spring season in a 9-0 win at the Willamette Tennis Courts on Sunday afternoon.
Christine Eliazo and Kacey Incerpi won the top doubles match, 8-2, over Mikaila Smith and Robin Pashek. Eliazo then went on to defeat Smith in the top singles match 5-7, 6-1, 10-2. Incerpi defeated Pashek in the No. 2 spot 6-0, 6-0 to hold on to her present 11-singles match winning streak.
Glenna Gee-Taylor and Natalie Kelly defeated Sarah Dean and Sylvia Marr in the No. 2 doubles match 8-1. Kelly then defeated Dean in the No. 3 singles spot 6-1, 6-2. Gee-Taylor did not participate in the singles matches. Tash Hood defeated Marr in the No. 5 singles spot 6-3, 6-2.
For the No. 3 doubles match, Riley Hanks and Chloe Sermet defeated Siena Ginsburg and Alexis Gjurasic 8-6. Sermet then went on to defeat Ginsburg in the No. 4 singles spot 6-1, 6-1.
Madelyn Landerfelt was in the No. 6 singles spot for the Pios and defeated Hannah Andres 6-0, 6-2.
This was the third time this spring season that the Lewis & Clark Pioneers have defeated an opponent without giving a point. The Pios are now 8-3 overall and 4-1 in conference.
The Pioneers will be travelling to Pacific this Saturday, Apr. 14 before playing back at home for their senior night against Linfield on Apr. 15.
