PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Pioneers defeated the Austin Kangaroos in a non-conference match on Saturday evening at the L&C Tennis Dome, 6-3, after three of their matches went into tiebreakers.

In the doubles matches, first position duo Christine Eliazo and Kacey Incerpi defeated Diana Carvajalino and Anna Sergiovanni, 8-4. The pair currently has a 7-1 doubles record. In second position, Natalie Kelly and Chloe Sermet lost to Melody Duong and Grace Ortiz, 6-8. In the third spot, Glenna Gee-Taylor and Madelyn Landerfelt defeated Katie Seibert and Georgia Moore after going into a tie-breaker 9-8 (10).

For the singles matches, Eliazo was in the No.1 match and defeated Duong, 6-3, 6-4, and improved her singles record to 7-1. Incerpi was in the second position and was able to claim victory in the lengthy match over Carvajalino in a third set 3-6, 6-3, 6-1. Incerpi has now won every singles match of hers since Feb. 10.

Kelly was defeated by Sergiovanni, 7-5, 6-3, in the No. 3 position, while in the No.4 match, Sermet defeated Ortiz after a tiebreaker, 6-4, 7-6 (9). Sermet is now 6-1 in her singles matches. Landerfelt defeated Morris, 6-1, 6-0, in the fifth position and Riley Hanks beat Seibert, 6-0, 6-0, in the No. 6 match and improved her record to 6-1.

Lewis & Clark will stay at the L&C Tennis Dome to challenge the George Fox Bruins on Sunday.
