SPOKANE, Wash. -- The Lewis & Clark Women's Tennis team earned their third conference win of the season defeating the Whitworth Pirates 7-2. This win increased their overall record to 6-0 .
For the singles matches, the Pioneers were able to win five of the six matchups with one of them going into a third set. Christine Eliazo defeated her opponent in three sets with scores of (6-4, 4-6, 6-3). Eliazo has won every singles and doubles match she has been in this since the start of the spring season.
Kacey Incerpi won in two sets with scores of (6-0, 6-3) and Natalie Kelly won with scores of (6-0, 6-4). Tash Hood lost to her opponent (3-6, 0-6) but Chloe Sermet won her match (6-1, 6-1) and clinched the win for the Pioneers. Madelyn Landerfelt was the last singles match and defeated her opponent (6-2, 6-1).
In the doubles matches, the Eliazo and Incerpi duo defeated their opponent with scores of 8-4. The other Pio pair that won was Glenna Gee-Taylor with Kelly. They defeated their opponent 8-5. Sermet and Landerfelt lost to Whitworth's Marissa Kirk and Avery Liening 4-8.
The Pioneers will be finishing up their Washington weekend by playing Whitman this Sunday, Mar. 11 at 9 a.m.
