PORTLAND, Ore. -- The Lewis & Clark Pioneers kept their win streak going with a 7-2 defeat of the Willamette Bearcats on Sunday at the L&C Tennis Dome. The Pios improved their overall record to 3-0.
For the doubles matches, the Pioneers won two out of three. Doubles partners Kacey Incerpi and Christine Eliazo won their match first, 8-3. Glenna Gee-Taylor and Madelyn Landerfelt then won their match, 8-2. In the final doubles match, Tash Hood and Riley Hanks lost to Sarah Dean and Sylvia Marr, 8-5.
The Pioneers won five of the six singles matches. Incerpi defeated her opponent in two sets (6-1,6-1) followed by Hood who pulled out of her match in the second set in a 6-4, 2-1 defeat. Chloe Sermet defeated her opponent (6-1, 6-3) followed by Eliazo winning in two sets (6-3, 6-0). Landerfelt won her match in two sets (6-1, 6-1) and Hanks won the last singles match (6-4, 6-2).
Lewis & Clark will stay at home to face off against the Puget Sound Loggers on Saturday at 11 a.m.
