Men's Tennis Falls In NWC Tournament to #14 Whitman

RESULTS

WALLA WALLA, Wash. - The Lewis & Clark men's tennis team battled #14 Whitman in the Northwest Conference Tournament but ultimately fell 5-1 to the host and top seed.  Michael Brewer and Kevin Ross picked up the lone point for the Pioneers at No. 2 doubles.

Brewer and Ross fought hard to pick up a point for the Pioneers when they defeated Andy Riggs and Jake Hoeger 8-4. Whitman's Colton Malesovas and Andrew La Cava defeated Morgan Joyce and Daniel Hahm 8-3 at No. 1 doubles.  At No. 3 doubles Scott Monismith and Cameron Smith put pressure on Steven Roston and James Rivers but took the loss 8-4.

In singles action Brewer fell 6-3, 6-2 to La Cava at the No.1 spot.  At No. 2 Ross lost 6-1, 6-4 to Roston while Hahm slipped to Riggs 6-3, 6-3 as the No. 3 singles player.
