PORTLAND, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark men's tennis team fell 8-1 to the Pacific Boxers on Sunday morning in a non-conference match.
The Pioneers only win came from freshman Olivier Groot who won his seventh straight match to improve to 11-2 on the season from No. 1 singles. Groot defeated Troy Zuroske in the match-up of the season. Groot dropped the first set 6-7 after losing the tie-breaker 5-7. The freshman then earned a 7-6 win in the second set after winning the tie-breaker 7-5. In the third set the pair once again were forced to play a tie-breaker with Groot winning 1-0 (10-4).
