McMINNVILLE, Ore. - The Lewis & Clark men's basketball team earned an 86-71 victory over the Linfield Wildcats on the road on Tuesday night in McMinnville, Ore. The Pioneers were led by 24 points from junior PJ Taylor.
The Pioneers bounce back afer consecutive road loses to improve to 15-5 on the season and 8-3 in Northwest Conference play. The Wildcats fall to 8-12 overall and 4-7 in conference action.
Taylor ended the night 8-11 from the floor and 4-4 from the free-throw line in route to his team-high 24 points. Marcus Wells chipped in 20 points, finishing 7-7 from the charity stripe and 3-3 from long distance. Donato Perconti finished with 16 points and senior Kyle Meeuwsen added 15 points to the Pioneer victory. Taylor also ended the night with a team-high eight boards, all eight coming on the defensive end.
K.C. Wiser was the only player to finish with a double-double, scoring 33 points for the Wildcats and coming down with 10 boards.
The Pioneers return to action on Friday, Feb. 5 at 8 p.m. when they travel to Newburg to face the George Fox Bruins.
