RESULTS
PORTLAND, Ore., - It was a rough afternoon for the
Lewis & Clark men's tennis team who slipped 9-0 to Northwest
Conference member Whitman at the Tennis Dome. The Pioneers fall to
0-3 on the season and 0-1 in the NWC.
The Pioneers nearly earned a at the No. 1 singles spot
from Vincent Groot who took one of three sets from Michael Shelton
(4-6, 7-5, 8-10). Groot nearly earned the Pioneers a point in
doubles, along with teammate Peter Ray. Groot and Ray fell to
Shelton and Joe Wales 8-5.
Andrew Mollier and Quinn Roth-Carter battled strong in the No. 3
doubles spot, taking on Kellen Ortgen and Colin Barrett. Ortgen and
Barrett won the set 8-6.
The Pioneers return to the courts on Feb. 20 hosting Linfield in
another NWC match-up.
