Family & Friends Honor Gaillard For 500th NCAA Win

PORTLAND, Ore., - Close friends, family & colleagues of Bob Gaillard honored the Lewis & Clark men's basketball coach on Tuesday, Feb. 10 in the Hall of Champions in Pamplin Sports Center for reaching his 500th career NCAA victory.

Gaillard picked up his 500th victory last Friday night when his Pioneers beat George Fox 63-49 in Newberg, Ore. With another win Saturday, Gaillard upped his career record to 501-254 and moved into 12th place on the list of active Division III coaches with the most career wins.

Several of Gaillard's former players were in attendance, as well as his current team, while past players who could not attend sent in their best wishes and congratulations for their former coach. The congratulations rolled in from not only former players, but also past colleagues and fellow conference coaches.

In honor of the victory Gaillard was presented with a customized basketball remembering the day he defeated George Fox for that illusive 500th win. Gaillard and his team, as well as members of the PAC, we also presented with original "Bob Gaillard 500 Wins" bobble-heads (pictured).

Coach Gaillard bobble heads are available to all 2008-2009 PAC members. To become a member or to get your own Coach Gaillard bobble head, contact Monica Baker at 503-768-7710 or mbaker@lclark.edu.
