WALLA WALLA, Wash. - Portland Bible College ran
its record to 7-4 with a 76-73 overtime victory over short-handed
Lewis & Clark College Saturday afternoon in the Walla Walla
Vineyard Inn/Bon Appetit Classic in Sherwood Center on the Whitman
College campus.
Portland Bible led 38-34 at halftime and was up 54-48 with six
minutes left in the second half. But James Hollins hit a three and
Clifton Avery added a two as Lewis & Clark caught Portland
Bible at 63-all at the end of regulation.
The Wildcats scored the first six points of OT and never trailed,
although Lewis & Clark closed to 74-73 with 17 seconds left.
Portland Bible's Michael Cooper answered with a fastbeak dunk to
nail down the victory.
Stephen McCall led the Wildcats with 18 points, nine rebounds and
seven assists. Cooper added 15 points and seven rebounds. Portland
Bible also got 12 points from Juston Coleman and 10 points from
Joshua Swink.
Hollins had another monster game for Lewis & Clark with 36
points and 13 rebounds. He had 45 points and 14 rebounds in
Friday's tournament game against William Jessup.
Clifton finished with a double-double (13 points, 11 rebounds) for
the Pioneers. Scott Pisapia chipped in with 11 points. Lewis &
Clark used just six players in the game.
The Pioneers return to the court on Friday, Nov. 27 at 5:30 p.m.
when they take on Chico State in the Chico State Classic.
